The Renaissance Waverly hotel in an effort to provide a safe and secure experience for everyone attending Anime Weekend Atlanta has released their updated policies and clarifications for everyone registered to attend AWA. These provisions are made so that those who have paid to register for the Convention or are a guest of the hotel attending the 2023 AWA convention can fully enjoy their experience throughout the weekend.

  • Registration for the convention is no longer held at the Waverly Hotel. Online registrations is highly encouraged. Badge pick-up or purchase will take place at the Cobb Galleria Convention Center first floor and not at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel as in years past.
  • Like previous years, each registered guest will sign a “code of conduct” upon check in to the hotel. Please be aware of and adhere to the requirements and guidance which will be presented at the time of check in. Violations to the code of conduct may result in immediate eviction. Deposits will not be returned.
  • [This only applies to those staying at the Renaissance Waverly] Each registered hotel guest will be issued a wristband per day that must be worn to be able to enter and re-enter the hotel throughout the conference. A different designated color wristband will be assigned to each day to be worn throughout the day. These are not transferable. The hotel reserves the right to refuse entry or re-entry into the hotel to anyone not wearing a wristband that identifies you as a guest of the hotel. This will apply to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the convention. Colors for each assigned day will be given at check in.
  • No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the hotel. All coolers will be checked upon entry into the hotel, especially at check in. Coolers found with alcoholic beverages of any sort will be confiscated and will not be returned to you until departure from the hotel at the conclusion of the convention on Sunday.
  • All alcoholic beverages must be purchased at the hotel. Any individual who brings liquor into the hotel or is observed consuming in the lobby of the hotel, restaurants, guest room, or other areas within the hotel will be subject to eviction. Deposits will not be returned.
  • Resale or sale of alcoholic beverages in any guest room is illegal and will be subject to immediate eviction. No refunds will be provided.
  • The hotel has a designated smoking area outside of the hotel. Vaping or smoking in the hotel is not permitted.
  • The hotel is working to provide music throughout the convention and will have designated entertainment throughout the weekend. Neither pop up DJs nor loud “boom boxes” will be permitted at the hotel by non-contracted entertainers.
  • Anime Weekend Atlanta, The Waverly Hotel, and the Cobb Convention Center have collaborated to provide new pedestrian traffic patterns to ensure that those registered for the convention or at the hotel will be able to fully enjoy their Anime Weekend so please be aware of and adhere to the new entry and exit patterns at the hotel and convention center.
  • The hotel reserves the right to refuse entry to any person who is not a hotel guest or a registered attendee of the Anime Convention. Lanyards or Hotel Wristbands must be shown to enter the hotel. Outside guests / visitors not registered to the hotel or to the convention may be refused access into the hotel.
