Idols have increasingly become a widespread hobby among anime, K-pop, and Japanese culture fans all across the world in the past few years. Anime Weekend Atlanta has fully embraced this hobby and included several opportunities for both veteran and novice idols alike. Whether you are interested in the original AWA Starlight Idol Festival, the brand new Solo Stage, or are looking to hone your skills on the Comet stage, AWA’s Idol Programming track has a path for you to showcase your skills. Anime Weekend Atlanta’s premiere idol festival! Each year we aim for the moon and land among the stars, and this year is no exception. Join us in main events as we put on our biggest and brightest stage yet! All idols, odorites, dancers, singers, and groups are welcome to apply to SIF. While we focus on Japanese idols and media, we will consider every application equally and carefully.

Ideal candidates for this stage are less experienced idols who want to learn the ropes at a full-sized event while receiving more help and mentorship from the stage crew in order to put on a professional-level performance. AWA’s Event Horizon V-Idol Festival is returning this year! This festival is comprised of pre-recorded but new videos from virtual talents that will be shown to a live audience. Both 2d and 3d V-idols are welcome to apply to the show

Come one, come all, and enter into AWA’s Kaigai Cabaret – a place for you to relax, imbibe, let down your hair (or perhaps tie it up?) and enjoy a night of glamorous decadence! Come watch as idols-by-day shed their frills for a sleeker and more sexy approach to performance.

Anime Weekend Atlanta’s Video Art Track and Idol Programming departments are joining forces for the first time ever to bring attendees AWA’s own AMIdol Showcase! Idols and AMV Editors will work together for around six months before show to put together a riveting performance merging the strengths of both performers and editors. Participants will have 5 minutes for their set.

Open All Weekend!
This stage is for performers who would like their own stage show slot during AWA, and will be located in the video game hall. Performers can apply for a 30 minute long or 45 minute long slot on the stage, which includes setup and teardown time.
