Accessibility Accommodations

Anime Weekend Atlanta is open to individuals of all abilities. If you are an attendee with a disability or medical condition, our goal is to provide reasonable accommodations so that you may be able to fully participate in convention activities and have equitable access. We want to make sure that everyone has a wonderful experience, so please, if you have accessibility concerns that might make attending our event difficult, we would love to help you out. To best accommodate individual needs, we recommend emailing us at accessibility@awa-con.com before the convention so we can do our best to make sure you have the resources you need. We are dedicated to improving our efforts and we encourage all feedback and suggestions to improve your experience.

REGISTRATION & SPECIAL ASSISTANCE:

If you have issues standing for an extended period, please see us at our Accessibility Booth next to Registration for assistance. We can issue you a sticker that will help our staff and volunteers to identify and assist anyone who might require additional support. The stickers are available to individuals who may have mobility, physical, vision, hearing, cognitive, psychological, or any other type of disability or medical condition that may not be visible. You can obtain an assistance sticker on-site from the Accessibility Booth on the first floor by Registration or the Accessibility Booth on the third floor. Convention staff may be required to discuss reasonable accommodation with you in order attempt to meet your needs.

One companion sticker will be issued for each ADA patron; exceptions will be made for families with young children. If a guest wants to switch their companion, please bring the old companion sticker to the Accessibility Booth to be reissued.

This service is also for pregnant attendees.

PANELS ROOMS AND AUTOGRAPHS:

Our department will have chairs marked in the panel rooms for those that need special seating and spots available for wheelchairs. Please let staff know what accommodation you will need, for example a seat at the end of the row or a seat up front due to vision impairment. If you need a seat in line, please make sure to ask the event staff. There should be empty chairs at the entrance of the Dealer’s room as well for those that need a seat in line while waiting to enter. These spaces are limited and are not guaranteed once the room is open for other attendees, please make sure to arrive early for the panel.

For the Autograph lines if you are in a wheelchair or need a seat in line, you can have someone in your group stand in line to hold your spot and you can go to the end of the exit for that panelist. Once your friend in line is close to the front you will be able to enter the exit line for your spot as the lines are tight.

DEAF or HARD OF HEARING

For participants who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, sign language interpreters are available upon request. Please contact accessibility@awa-con.com before the convention so we can do our best to make sure you have the resources you need.
