About AWA-Con
The Largest Anime Convention In The Southeast
Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) is an annual four-day anime convention held during December at the Georgia World Congress Center, Building C in Atlanta, Georgia.
We offer fun experiences such as the Anime Music Video contest, Artists’ Alley, concerts, costume contest, dances, Dealer’s Room, fashion show, formal ball, game shows, karaoke, Maid Café, panels, RPG Gaming, tabletop gaming, Video Gaming, and Workshops.
AWA is being hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center Building C this year. We recommend using public transportation such as MARTA or ridesharing to avoid traffic congestion and parking issues.
GWCC does offer pre-paid parking. For more information, visit their parking site at:
Anime Weekend Atlanta is a 24 hour convention, starting Thursday and continuing through Sunday evening. To get the maximum fun out of the convention, avoid having to lug around 10lbs of swag you bought in the dealer’s room, and accommodate your 3 cosplay changes a day, you’re probably going to want to stay close by. To help you out with that, AWA has made agreements with local hotels to offer you the lowest rates available for the weekend AND include special concessions like free in-room wifi.
We want to make sure everyone has a great experience and the Accessibility Services Department is here to help make this convention warm and welcoming for all attendees. If you have accessibility or mobility concerns that make attending large events difficult, we would love to help you out!
In order to best accommodate your individual needs, we recommend emailing accessibility@awa-con.com before the convention so we can do our best to make sure you have the resources you need.
